Troubleshooting and Electrical System & Re-designing
The premises was energized through a 630 kVA transformer; however, no proper electrical drawings or documentation were available for the existing installation. A detailed site assessment identified several critical issues, particularly relating to cable sizing, load distribution, and switchgear coordination. The occupants had also experienced frequent nuisance tripping, while several cables were found to have suffered thermal damage and burning due to inadequate system design and protection coordination.
A comprehensive electrical survey was therefore conducted, covering the installation from the incoming supply through to the downstream distribution network. The entire system was reviewed and redesigned based on detailed load calculations, appropriate cable sizing, voltage-drop considerations, fault-level requirements, and proper switchgear protection and coordination.
Following the assessment, the identified deficiencies and recommended corrective measures were discussed with the client. Comprehensive electrical design drawings were subsequently prepared and handed over to the client, providing a properly coordinated and technically compliant basis for rectification, upgrading, and future operation of the electrical installation.
