CPD Session on Solar PV and BESS Design

A dedicated Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme was conducted for university students across Sri Lanka, focusing on the practical design and engineering of solar PV and battery energy storage systems. The programme consisted of several online learning sessions, followed by a comprehensive in-person practical session covering the fundamentals and applied aspects of solar PV system design, battery sizing, energy storage technologies, system configuration, and engineering considerations. The programme was successfully conducted with strong participation and engagement from university students, creating an interactive environment that encouraged technical discussion, knowledge sharing, and practical learning. It was a privilege for our team to contribute to the professional development of the next generation of Sri Lankan engineers by sharing industry knowledge, practical experience, and emerging technologies in renewable energy and energy storage.
