Design and Fabrication of 50kWh HV BESS for a beachside villa

A 512 V, 100 Ah Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), with a total energy capacity of approximately 50 kWh, was professionally designed and fabricated for the existing off-grid solar PV system at this particular villa. This turnkey, state-of-the-art project represented a significant step forward in energy-storage technology in Sri Lanka, incorporating a high-voltage battery topology specifically engineered for reliable off-grid operation. The system comprises 10 battery slave modules, enabling high-voltage operation together with advanced slave-level balancing and active cell balancing. An integrated Energy Management System (EMS) provides intelligent monitoring and control of the battery system, including remote Wi-Fi monitoring, operational control, system diagnostics, and performance management. This allows the system to be monitored and managed remotely while maintaining optimal battery performance and safety. The complete battery pack was designed, engineered, and fabricated in-house by the expert engineering team at Phoenix Group of Companies, providing full control over the system architecture, integration, commissioning, and after-sales technical support.
